India–International Adoption

My homestudy was just completed for my international adoption to India. More time consuming than grueling, the key to the paperwork is just take one requirement at a time. The list is endless of the documentation that a prospective adoptive parent (PAP) must submit, but at the end of the day, it’s a birth certificate, a doctor’s note, a tax form, some fingerprints and a homestudy. So, the wheels are in place, let’s see how India works out.

Tango Shoes and Hiking Shoes Living side by side

Had a fabulous time in Argentina. One of the amazing cities of the world. Tangoed in Boca, shopped on Santa Fe. Concerts and promenading along the boulevards. I finally put my tango shoes away and took the overnight bus ride to Puerto Madryn, for whale watching and eco-ing. Bus rides to boat rides–seeing baby whales was amazing. From there, another overnight bus to El Calafate–this was what I imagine Vail was like in the 70′s. Just fun, laid back, wine bars above art galleries. Emmie and I took a bus to the glacier–and found Karl and Claude–a couple of germans who we thought were travelling together and as it turns out, they were both alone and just met on a bus. We planned to somehow travel together but I flew to Bariloche, Emmie took the bus to Bariloche, Karl flew to Buenos Aires and Claude just took a bus to somewhere. Bariloche was like a Swiss Village–very european, lots of chocolate shoppes, a giant lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. Karl directed me to Bariloche and he didn’t steer me wrong. From there, an overnight bus took me to Buenos Aires where I had one last day of paridilla and tango before I headed stateside.

Interesting Pals: Cast of characters come and go. Some were old lovers, some hoped to be, some I wish were but it wasn’t meant to be, but the common thread is eccentricty, personality disorders, a few languages spoken, advanced degrees, and a whole lot of fun!

Travel: Tango in Buenos Aires to Shopping the night Bazaar’s in Bangkok. Christmasing from Santa Fe to St. Kitts to Mexico to Vail.

Landlording: Construction to Inspectors to collecting rent and collecting quarters from wash machines.

Cute dog: The proof is in the pudding

International Adoption: My dossier is in Vietnam. But Vietnam closed thanks to our state department who gave Vietnam a hard time. Next stop, India. Cautiously optimistic.
